Kii Audio unleahes Kii Seven Wireless Music System

Kii Audio’s Kii Seven Wireless Music System, shown recently at the UK Hi-Fi Show Live, will be available to customers early next year. The company reveals that: “unlike many traditional smart speakers, the Kii Seven has been designed as a cardioid speaker, thereby significantly reducing the impact of room acoustics. Thanks to its Active Wave Focusing, it delivers detailed separation and excellent musicality.”

Instead of splitting the spectrum into bands, as per traditional crossover filters, Kii Audio explains that its Active Wave Focusing filters: “force the specially positioned drive units to create a completely coherent wave front, that is only emitted towards the listener.”

Kii equips the Seven with a Cardioid Sound Dispersion pattern down to the low-mid and bass frequencies: “providing even and highly detailed bass and significantly reduced acoustic interaction with the room”.

Designed to integrate with mobile devices, it makes use of the Kii Home App, so users can customise acoustic settings for up to 12 separate zones in their home.

The Seven incorporates a 25mm Custom Wave-guided Tweeter, 127mm midrange and two 165mm bass drivers. It has a claimed amplification of 600W and multiple inputs including XLR and TRS, AES/EBU, alongside wi-fi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2. It is Roon Ready and comes in a choice of Fine Touch White or Fine Touch Dark Grey. The price is expected to be £3,500 for a solo loudspeaker or £6,990 for a stereo pair.
