Orange introduces Orange Box Bluetooth speakers

Orange Amplification, best known as the manufacturer of guitar and bass amps for the likes of Jimmy Page, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Fleetwood Mac, Rush, Oasis and Madonna, has been providing on-stage equipment since 1968 and is now branching out into the consumer business with the launch of two new Orange Box Bluetooth speakers.

Claiming to be the only Bluetooth speakers on the market that use both a single 30W RMS Class D and 2x 10W RMS A/B analogue amplifiers, the company explains that the Boxes boast: “controlled, tight, punchy bass and smooth, natural mids and highs”.

Also included is a unique audio safety feature, which continually monitors the volume with a flashing light when the unit is being driven too hard – indicating overload distortion and possible damage.

The smaller, more compact Orange Box is described as: “lightweight, super-portable with a handy carry strap and a rechargeable battery offering up to 15 hours of playback time. It has a single 102mm bass driver and two 51mm tweeters. The slightly larger Box-L is a mains-powered version, featuring a larger 127mm bass driver.

Both feature a wooden tolex covering and come in orange or black. The Orange Box costs £275, the Orange Box-L, £315.
